It was a sight to behold here in Mapandan, Pangasinan, as the total lunar eclipse was observed and shot. I was almost certain that I won’t be able to witness this beautiful phenomenon as the clouds started to appear as early as 5:00pm PHT today. Good thing the clouds dispersed around 6:20pm PHT and the moon was already visible.
The moon appeared to be a burnt orange color, a phenomenon known as the “blood moon” due to the reddish hue that it takes on during a total lunar eclipse. It was truly a mesmerizing experience to witness and the photos that were taken were truly remarkable.
It was a great experience to be able to witness this beautiful event, and it was made even more enjoyable by the fact that the clouds had cleared up in time for us to observe the eclipse. It was a reminder of how much wonder can be found in the heavens, and how little we actually know about the universe.
I was also able to observe the occultation of Uranus
I’m glad that I was able to observe and take shots of the total lunar eclipse here in Mapandan, Pangasinan. It was a great experience and one that I will never forget. The blood moon was a sight to behold, and I look forward to the next time I can witness this amazing event.
